1) 'Thanks For The Prayers': 101-Year-Old Cleveland Woman Shot By Her Neighbor

🙏 Habeeba Barnes — Grandma BB to family and friends — managed to live 101 years before her most recent unique life experience: getting shot. Cleveland police recently visited her upstairs neighbor on East 151st Street after the man fired a gun into the floor. The stray bullet struck Grandma BB in the arm. "I'm kind of surprised, myself, I got shot," she said. “Well, my arm hurts once in a while. Other than that, I’ll be all right. Thanks for the prayers.”

2) In just two weeks, anyone in Ohio who can legally buy a firearm will be able to conceal that weapon and carry it around in public without a permit. And if you're stopped by a police officer, you no longer are required to inform the officer that you're carrying a firearm. The officer must ask first. (The officer does not need to say the "magic word," however.)

  • Today's rules: Gun owners who want to carry concealed firearms must get a permit from the local sheriff, undergo a background check and obtain eight hours of weapons training. Background checks would stop a person with a protective order from getting a permit, for example.
  • Public benefit: Those permits needed to be renewed every five years. And every year, about 2,000 people who run afoul of the law get their conceal-carry permit revoked.
  • But ... all of those rules go away on June 13.

3) Another woman has come forward with another sexual misconduct lawsuit against Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson. This is the 23rd lawsuit. The woman was motivated by Soledad O'Brien's "Real Sports" interview on HBO. "In that piece, plaintiff was struck by the courage of the victims willing to step forward and speak and was extremely displeased by Watson and his legal team's mistreatment and revictimization of the plaintiffs. But it was Watson himself claiming that even now he has 'no regrets' and has done nothing wrong that solidified her resolve. She brings this case seeking minimum compensation, but to obtain a court finding that Watson's conduct was wrong," the lawsuit states.
