18-Year-Old Indicted, Accused Of Killing Cleveland Police Officer

A Cuyahoga County grand jury indicted an 18-year-old in connection to the death of a Cleveland police officer.

CLEVELAND — An 18-year-old has now been indicted on charges of murder in connection to the death of Cleveland police officer Shane Bartek, the Cuyahoga County prosecutor's office announced.

On Friday, a Cuyahoga County grand jury indicted Tamara McLoyd, 18, on multiple charges, including aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, aggravated robbery, grand theft, having weapons under disability and petty theft. She is currently being held at Cuyahoga County Jail on a $5 million bond.

Prosecutors believe McLoyd robbed Bartek, who was off duty, in a parking lot on Rocky River Drive on Dec. 31. The 18-year-old ran behind Bartek, court documents said, and then shot him. She then stole his car, prosecutors added.
