19-Year-Old Shot To Death At Cleveland Apartment Building

Someone shot the 19-year-old multiple times in the chest, police said.

CLEVELAND — A 19-year-old man was shot to death at a Cleveland apartment building on Friday, police announced.

At 3:40 p.m., officers were called to a complex on Washington Avenue after callers reporting hearing gunshots. When police arrived, they found the 19-year-old unconscious on the stairs. He had been shot multiple times in the chest, a Cleveland Police spokesperson said.

EMS rushed the 19-year-old to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators believe the 19-year-old was at his girlfriend's home when three men arrived, looking to smoke cannabis. The 19-year-old was in the stairwell with the other men and then a gunshot was heard, police said.

Officers continue to investigate the shooting.
