CLEVELAND — A $5 million bond has been set for the woman accused of shooting and killing an off-duty Cleveland police officer Friday.

Tamara McLloyd, 18, was charged with aggravated murder Sunday and made her first court appearance during a virtual session Monday, Fox 8 reported.

The officer who died Friday was identified as 25-year-old Shane Bartek. He joined Cleveland police in 2019 and primarily worked on the city's northeast side, a department spokesperson said.

Police believe McLloyd confronted Bartek on Friday evening in a parking lot on Rocky River Drive. The two struggled and Bartek was shot twice, police said. He was taken to Fairview Hospital, where he died, News 5 reported.

McLloyd took Bartek's car after shooting him, police said. The vehicle was later recovered and the person driving the car, Anthony Butler, Jr., was also taken into custody, WKYC reported. He is accused of receiving stolen property, fleeing from police and other traffic-related charges. Butler was held on a $500,000 bond.
