1) An irate customer with a history as a troublemaker was shot by an employee at a Bedford Hyundai dealership. The employee was walking to his car outside the dealership Friday when the customer, who was causing a ruckus in the service department, approached the employee. That's when he was shot in the hip. When police arrived, a manager had taken possession of the firearm. As of yet, no charges have been filed. The customer was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center.

2) Hayden Speeth, the owner and founder of 440 Kicks and a student at John Carroll University, teamed up with University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital to donate shoes to kids in need. He donated more than 100 pairs of shoes at a Kicks for Kids charity event Saturday. "I started my business back in eighth grade because I was bullied for not having cool shoes," Speeth said. "So I took that feeling of being bullied and turned it into my business."

Monday Morning Quarterback

Let's play Monday morning quarterback for a minute, shall we? The Browns played the Chicago Bears Saturday evening in the preseason tune-up game. We know a lot of the A-team starters were not on the field — Chubb, Garrett, Hunt, Clowney, etc., each of whom is a game-day difference maker.

But the Browns looked poorly prepared for the first half. Maybe they should have spent more time getting Jacoby Brissett ready than giving reps to Deshaun Watson — who they knew was going to be suspended for a many games.

Remember this quote from head coach Kevin Stefanski: "Obviously, we would have wanted to move the ball more consistently as an offense early. I thought Jacoby saw it very clearly in terms of coverage and did a nice job operating in the huddle, at the line of scrimmage, on the sideline and those type of things.”

OK COACH, BUT WHAT ABOUT DURING THE ACTUAL PLAYS?!

Admittedly, I'm calling this from the cheapest of the cheap seats, but the Browns look like a 6-5 or 5-6 team for the first 11 games. Hope I'm wrong. The defense looks good. Let's hope they can carry the team on Sundays.

Cleveland Chatter

  • Brad Pittie: "Who wants a kiss from swoon-worthy Brad Pit? You might just get smooshed by his floppy jowls and tickled by his chin whiskers in the process. Our Brad Pit certainly has the hunky good looks of a movie star... And he has a cool, confident personality to match. Brad Pit is a beefcake, but he settles into an easy-going pace on walks and likes moseying along with his nose to the ground. During breaks, if you find a nice spot to sit, he'll trundle right over and lean against you for pets and butt scratches. He has a nice moderate energy level, knows sit, and seems like he could be housebroken. Plus, he's been quite social and playful with other dogs in play group! Brad Pit is estimated to be around 2.5 years old and weighs a tankish 67 lbs." (City Dogs Cleveland via Facebook)
  • Clutch Jose Ramirez: "Coming up clutch and a new career high in RBI? Sounds about right. 🐐 #ForTheLand" (Cleveland Guardians via Instagram)
  • In Gallery 239: "Happy birthday to Ai Weiwei, who was born #onthisday in 1957! Come to Gallery 239 to see Ai’s Treasure Box, which reflects his interest in traditional Chinese materials, awareness of the #contemporary world, and sense of humor." (Cleveland Museum of Art via Instagram)
  • Please look out for Brodie: "One of our dogs, Brodie, jumped his foster’s fence in the Harmody Park area of Old Brooklyn and is now missing. He is deaf but friendly. If you see him, please call his foster mom, Emma, at 440-554-7359." (Cleveland Animal Protective League via Facebook)
