Bedrock Presents Free Back-to-School Carnival with Backpack Giveaway at Tower City Center

A last hoorah for Cleveland kids before school starts – packed with rides, games and giveaways

Before the school year kicks off, Bedrock will host a Back-to-School Carnival at Tower City Center and in Public Square—a free family event designed to give Cleveland kids one last joyful summer experience before heading back to class. The event is planned for Saturday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Highlights include a 1,000-backpack and school supply giveaway, live entertainment and classic carnival fun, all tailored for Northeast Ohio families.

Backpacks will be distributed on Level 1 in Tower Court on a first-come, first-served basis and while supplies last. The backpacks will include items such as crayons and pencils, a ruler and an eraser, notebook and folder, hand sanitizer and more.

  • Bookbag tag craft station
  • Stage shows with games and prizes
  • Face painting, inflatables, arcade and jumbo games
  • Pirate VR Ride & photo booth
  • Stilt walkers
  • Cleveland Public Library play area

Public Square outdoor carnival attractions will include:

  • Rides: No Limit, Bear-A-Fair, Merry-Go-Round, Hurricane, Ring of Fire, Drop Zone, Jumbo Slides, Monkey Maze, Wacky Shack
  • Carnival games & classic concessions
  • Live DJ entertainment
