Cavs Championship Parade Videos and Photos
After 52 years without a championship, Cleveland deserved a big parade and on Wednesday, they got one.
Cleveland was in a good mood on Wednesday.
The buzz about going downtown on Wednesday began as soon as the Cavs Championship Parade was announced.
You could feel it everywhere you went, people were smiling, strangers were saying hello and greeting people with "Go Cavs!" Even things that would normally really bother people, didn't seem to bother them as much.

Downtown Cleveland was crowded. Ridiculously crowded. However, the crowd was peaceful. In fact, the Cavs Championship Parade has been added to the List of largest peaceful gatherings in history on Wikipedia.
Many people took, or at least tried to take, public transportation downtown, however, RTA experienced challenges all day long and at times, things got heated on social media. It seems that the number of people heading downtown was too much for RTA to take. Scores of people were seen walking and riding their bikes to the parade.

Everyone please understand that today in downtown Cleveland there are probably almost as many people as live in Cuyahoga County all together

The parade was supposed to step off at 11 a.m. but ended up starting a bit late because there were just too many people in the street. In fact, Cleveland Police sent out a media alert requesting help getting word out to people to clear the street:
"We are asking your assistance in getting out the word to fans and viewers. We need everyone to get out of the parade route. This is for both safety reasons and to help with the progression of the parade." - Cleveland Division of Police, Office of the Chief
Cellular phone access was sporadic because of the number of people using the network all at once. When a connection became available, many followed live feeds of the parade, some shot by Akron's Goodyear Blimp, to check on parade progress.
Standing room was at a premium in some spots, finding a place to see that parade without an obstructed view was a challenge. Parade goers were seeking out just about any vantage point to watch the parade. The higher, the better.
