CLEVELAND — Cleveland Browns star quarterback Deshaun Watson has settled all but four of 24 civil suits, attorney Tony Buzbee said Tuesday.

Buzbee said in a statement to media outlets his firm is working through paperwork related to those settlements, and that once they have finished, those specific cases will be dismissed.

"The terms and amounts of the settlements are confidential. We won’t comment further on the settlements or those cases," Buzbee said.

"Her case has not settled and thus her story and that of the other three brave women will continue," Buzbee said. "I look forward to trying these cases in due course, consistent with other docket obligations and the court’s schedule."

Watson has maintained his innocence, saying last week: “I never assaulted anyone. I never harassed anyone or I never disrespected anyone. I never forced anyone to do anything.”

The Browns and football fans are still waiting for the NFL to determine an appropriate penalty for the star quarterback, who was accused of sexual assault and harassment by 24 massage therapists during private sessions when he played for the Houston Texans.

A person familiar with the league’s investigation told The Associated Press a decision was expected before training camp. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the investigation remains ongoing.

A federal judge appointed by the NFL and NFL Players’ Association will review the league's findings and decide whether Watson violated the league's personal conduct policy, as well as whether to levy a penalty. Previously, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was authorized to suspend players.

The league and the union can recommend a suspension length. If the union or league appeals the decision, Goodell will decide a full, final and complete "disposition of the dispute," according to AP.
