Cleveland Clinic Claims Top Spots in U.S. News & World Report Hospital Rankings
The Cleveland Clinic once again scores well nationally and statewide in the survey, see where other Ohio hospitals ranked.

The Cleveland Clinic ranked as the best Ohio hospital in the 2016-2017 U.S. News and World Report list released Tuesday of the best hospitals in the country. The Clinic ranked No. 2 on the national list. The Mayo Clinic in Minnesota ranked No. 1 in the United States.
The Cleveland Clinic also maintained their number 1 spot on the list for heart care.
The annual list, now in its 27th year, considers how each hospital performs across different specialties, procedures and conditions.

Here are the top 20 Ohio hospitals, according to U.S. News and World Report, including tie rankings:

2. Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus
3. University Hospitals Case Medical Center, Cleveland
4. Fairview Hospital, Cleveland
5. Christ Hospital, Cincinnati
6. Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati
7. University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Cincinnati
8. Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton
9. Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center, Akron
10. OhioHealth Riverside Hospital, Columbus
11. MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland
12. Hillcrest Hospital, Cleveland
13. Bethesda North Hospital, Cincinnati

To compile the rankings, U.S. News and World Report used several objective measurements, such as patient survival, number of patients, and staffing numbers. The publication also used survey data from qualified physicians, who were asked to name the top five hospitals in their specialty. In all, 153 hospitals made the rankings in at least one specialty.
