1) Jacob Runyan — now infamous for loading up walleye with lead weights to cheat in a fishing tournament — faces legal troubles related to his home life, too. Runyan, 42, was arrested this summer in Ashtabula on charges of domestic violence and unlawful restraint and will go before a judge in November. The victim has an active restraining order against Runyan.
- Meanwhile, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources is moving ahead with its investigation of the fakery Runyan and Chase Cominsky are accused of perpetrating at the Lake Erie Walleye Tournament. ODNR wildlife officers will file a report with Cuyahoga County prosecutors. On Tuesday, the ODNR confirmed the investigation is under way and declined further comment.
- The case has captured national attention. Tournament Director Jason Fischer, who discovered the weights in the fish and castigated Runyan on video, said the men perpetrated "one of the most disgusting acts that the fishing world has ever seen."
2) A Cleveland mother is angry that the school bus driver entrusted with her 4-year-old son "didn't know" he was on the bus and brought him home 90 minutes late. Olivia Lee said Cleveland Metropolitan School officials gave her the runaround, too, first telling her a bus doesn't pick up children at that daycare location. "Yes, it does," Lee said. "He has been going on this bus route for over a year." Eventually, the bus driver figured out the child was asleep on the bus after she returned to the garage. This happened last Monday, and school officials hadn't responded to Lee with an explanation for five days.
3) Four East Cleveland police officers — Brian Stoll, Tyler Mundson, Kyle Wood and Daniel Toomer — were indicted Tuesday on 16 felony counts of felonious assault, interfering with civil rights, theft in office, tampering with evidence, obstruction of justice and dereliction of duty. They are accused of beating two people after two car chases, then lying about the assaults in their official reports. They also smashed the cellphone of one victim who was trying to record the officers as they beat him.

4) The diamonds used in Machine Gun Kelly's manicure for the 2022 Billboard Awards will be sold by Marrow Fine Jewelry, with the proceeds going to the Shaker Schools Foundation in Shaker Heights. The artist, known in his youth as Colson Baker, attended Shaker Heights High School as a teen. The nail set featured 880 black and white diamonds, which have been turned into a collection of 18 rings that

5) Four Ohio Republicans have endorsed Democrat Tim Ryan in the race for Ohio's U.S. Senate seat. Ryan, a Mahoning Valley congressman, is running against J.D. Vance. “Whether we're talking foreign policy, whether we're talking law and order, whether we're talking fighting extremism, if Ronald Reagan were here today, he wouldn't have anything to do with J.D. Vance. And I believe that we, as Republicans shouldn't have anything to do with him either,” said Phil Heimlich, a staunch conservative and Hamilton County commissioner.
