UPDATE: Dwyane Wade's DWExit Takes Him to Chicago

The Internet was wrong, D. Wade isn't headed to Cleveland. But speculation on the interwebs was fun while it lasted.

UPDATE: The Internet was wrong, D. Wade is not coming to Cleveland, he is DWExiting to his hometown Chicago Bulls.

Wade agreed to a two-year contract with the Bulls for a reported $47.5 million, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reported Wednesday night. The Heat's offer wasn't quite as good at $41.5 million for two years. However, it's worth noting that since the state of Florida has no income taxes, the difference in salaries is negligible.

So maybe it wasn't about the money. Perhaps Wade just wanted to leave Miami and go back home — like LeBron James.

Wade sent an open letter to Miami basically saying, “I feel I have made the right choice for myself and my family.”

The internet speculation was fun, there was even talk about naming animals at the Akron Zoo after Wade if he came to Cleveland. The zoo played along on social media expertly by offering one active Twitter follower what it called the "Mike Dunleavy consolation prize."

Original story:

Sometimes the internet's right, sometimes it's horribly wrong.

But if the internet is correct, a possible Cavs vs. Warriors NBA Finals rematch could be very interesting.

Word is that Wade is in early talks with Cleveland about the possibility of joining the Cavaliers. In fact, the subject is trending on Twitter with the hashtag #DWExit.

Someone even added the Cavaliers to DWade's Wikipedia page:

Could this be the Cavs' response to Golden State signing Kevin Durant?
