- Ex-Cleveland police sergeant Christopher Graham has been sentenced to seven days in jail and three years on probation for a misdemeanor assault conviction. Graham was found guilty by a jury of assaulting an 18-year-old woman while on duty at a gas station in 2017. He filed for an appeal on Thursday. (Subscription: cleveland.com)
- Local Demetrius Moore, 42, pleaded guilty to his role in illegally obtaining loan funding from the Small Business Administration during the COVID-19 pandemic. Moore received a total of $183,215.47 through the Paycheck Protection Program and Economic Injury Disaster Loan funding by providing false information. He will have to pay the money back and spend three and a half years in jail. (Department of Justice)
- The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife has closed a large criminal case involving white-tail deer in Southern Ohio. Fourteen people have been charged with a total of 122 counts in the case for things such as grand theft and engaging in corrupt activities. According to the case, the guilty parties were processing false-checked game deer, stealing venison, exceeding their deer limits, and more. Most of the guilty offenses took place in Gallia County.
