Rappers Promise to 'Make America Rage Again' at GOP Convention in Cleveland

The Prophets of Rage will "be rocking furiously in and around the RNC," said Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine.

The Prophets of Rage is a hybrid rock supergroup featuring Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk, along with Public Enemy’s Chuck D, Cypress Hill’s B Real and DJ Lord.

In a recent interview with Bloomberg Politics, guitarist Morello was asked how the band planned to kick off its tour in July:

"Well there's a thing called the Republican National Convention in July, and that will be a perfect place for a band like Prophets of Rage to cause a ruckus, and we will be there on the streets, in the field, " said Morello. "We'll be rocking furiously in and around the RNC," he added.

Morello said that the Prophets of Rage will definitely be in Cleveland for the RNC, but he was cagey about exactly where they would be.

"We have a venue and there may be venues that will be spontaneous venues, it's hard to say. This is the kind of thing you don't broadcast to the local authorities prior to arrival."

The Cleveland venue is listed as "TBD."

The Prophets of Rage aren't the only band with leftist views coming to Cleveland the week of the Republican National Convention. Al Jourgensen and Ministry will be kicking things off on July 17 at the Agora. In an April interview with Blabbermouth, Jourgensen made it very clear he's not scared of Donald Trump.
