1) A heroic 6-year-old boy is recovering from severe burns he suffered while trying to shield his 4-year-old brother from the flames of a car fire in Lakewood. Dean Martin, who's being treated at MetroHealth in Cleveland, has second and third-degree burns on his face, arms and legs. The car went up in flames while mom was picking up prescriptions. Good Samaritans pulled both boys from the fire. When Dean woke up at the hospital, the first thing he said to his mom was: "I’m Spiderman mom. I saved my brother."

❤️ 💙 2) Fans paid tribute to John Adams — the man who pounds the legendary drums in the bleachers at Cleveland Guardians games — with a banner at the Tampa Bay Wildcard Series game that read "Keep Rockin' John." Adams, a bleachers fixture for five decades, has been unable to attend the games in recent years due to his health. The Guardians dispatched the Rays when Oscar Gonzalez smacked a walk-off homerun in the 15th inning. (Whew!) The Guardians flew to New York Sunday night and will face the N.Y. Yankees in Game 1 of the American League Division Series on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 7:37 p.m. in Yankee Stadium. Game 2 will be Thursday at 7:37 p.m. The Yankees finished first in the AL East with a 99-63 record.

🤯 3) The Bad News Browns shocked and disappointed again Sunday, losing yet another winnable game, this time to the L.A. Chargers 30-28 as Cade York missed a 54-yard field goal at game's end. York never should have been in that situation. The Browns offense got off to a hot start. Jacoby Brissett is doing what he needs to do. Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt and Amari Cooper all scored touchdowns, but the Browns defense let the Chargers run through them at will.

4) Residential redevelopment of office buildings has contributed to downtown Cleveland losing 30 percent of its leasable office space, according to a recent Newmark real estate brokerage study. Meanwhile, only 60 percent of the remaining office space is being used at any given time due to the new realities of post-pandemic workplaces. Office space rental rates across Greater Cleveland remain steady at $18.58 per square foot.

5) Absentee voting and early in-person voting for the 2022 general election begins Wednesday, Oct. 12. People may register to vote for the general election through Tuesday, Oct. 11. Boards of election will be open until 9 p.m. for in-person registration. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8. The biggest contests on this ballot are the race for Ohio's U.S. Senate seat and the race for the governor's office. There are two statewide constitutional amendments on the ballot, too.
