I-271, I-71 Bridge Work Starts Monday In Northeast Ohio

CLEVELAND — Construction on I-271 and I-71 near Fairmount Boulevard and Whitney Road will begin Monday.

Bridge repairs will lead to lane closures overnight and lane restrictions between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Much of the work will continue through January, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT).

Here are the new restrictions and closures that will go into place on Monday:

  • I-271 local lanes under Fairmount Boulevard — There will nightly lane closures between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. starting Monday and continuing through late January.
  • I-271 express lanes under Fairmount Boulevard — The express lanes will be closed nightly between 7:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. starting Monday and continuing through late January.
  • I-71 under Whitney Road — There will be nightly lane restrictions between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. starting Monday and continuing through late January.
