A 2016 Supreme Court decision that redefined bribery is the basis for overturning two of Jimmy Dimora's convictions and knocking five years off the disgraced Cuyahoga County commissioner's prison sentence. The 66-year-old Dimora now could be released in 2031.

  • He was originally sentenced to 28 years in prison in 2012 after his convictions on bribery, conspiracy, mail fraud, tax fraud and obstruction of justice charges. He traded his influence as a commissioner to get hookers, cash, food, home remodeling and gambling trips. Prosecutors valued his corrupt haul over 12 years at almost half a million dollars.
  • Dimora wanted more time hacked off his sentence due to age, diabetes and repeated bouts of COVID-19 behind bars, but Judge Sara Lioi wouldn't consider that. “The reach of his corruption was far and wide. It was the type of conduct that undermines the public’s trust in their government.”

2) Johnny Stone, a kid from Cuyahoga Falls, bought three boxes of sports trading cards — and he found an incredibly rare trading card. The card featured rookie quarterback Mac Jones of the New England Patriots. Johnny freaked out and began shrieking, "Let's go, let's go, let's go, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!" He and his dad, Chad Stone, sold the card for $100,000 — and Johnny's mom made him put the loot in the bank.

4) In 2018, little Saniyah Nicholson was sitting in a car waiting for her mom to pick up her brother when two groups of men began fighting and shooting at each other at Lee Road and Cloverside Avenue. The 9-year-old girl was shot in the head and killed. On Wednesday, three of those Cleveland men were sentenced to 10 years apiece for manslaughter. All three broke into tears and apologized to Saniyah's mother, Marshawnette Daniels.

5) After the New York Times revealed that the Houston Texans provided locations for Deshaun Watson's massages — and legal documents to keep the massage therapists quiet — the attorney representing women suing the quarterback decided to add the football club as a defendant. “In many of these cases, the Texans provided the opportunity for this conduct to occur. We believe the Texans organization was well aware of Watson’s issues, but failed to act. They knew or certainly should have known," Tony Buzbee said. He represents 24 women who are suing Watson, who's now the Cleveland Browns quarterback.
