John Glenn Was One of the Few Non-Band Members to Dot the 'i' in Script Ohio at Ohio State
Astronaut and U.S. Senator, John Glenn was honored with the terrestrial tradition of dotting the "i" at The Ohio State University.

COLUMBUS, OH — Script Ohio and the dotting of the "i" is a very big deal at The Ohio State University. To be eligible to dot the “i” at a football game, a sousaphone player must be at least a fourth-year band member — usually.
The Ohio State University Marching Band (tbdbitl) has made several notable exceptions to this rule. Non-band members to dot the ‘i’ during “Script Ohio” include Woody Hayes, Bob Hope, Jack Nicklaus and Earle Bruce. A complete list of non-band "i" dotters can be viewed at elevenwarriors.com.
Ohio astronaut and U.S. senator John Glenn was another non-band member to get the honor of dotting the "i" during Script Ohio. Glenn dotted the "i" with his wife, Annie, before Ohio State's Sept. 5, 2009, season opener against Navy.
