Johnny Manziel Indicted For Hitting Girlfriend
The former Browns quarterback faces up to a year in jail.
Former Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel isn't just identifiable by the No. 2 on the back of his jersey. Now, he's known to the state of Texas as TX08613479.
The 2012 Heisman Trophy-winner was indicted Tuesday by a Dallas grand jury on one misdemeanor domestic violence charge for allegedly striking his girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, and threatening to kill her during a night out in Dallas in January.
Crowley detailed her allegations in a sworn affidavit, but Manziel has denied he hit her.

Dallas County District Attorney Susan Hawk said in a statement that the grand jury found probable cause and that the case will move forward through the criminal justice system.
Manziel's attorneys, though, say they will fight the charge.
"Johnny will certainly plead 'not guilty' and we believe the evidence will support that plea," Jim Darnell, Manziel's lead attorney, told USA Today in a statement. "Out of respect for Ms. Crowley, we will not try the case in the press. We do, however, believe that Johnny will be acquitted at the conclusion of the case.”
Manziel's football career is all but over after he was cut by the Browns. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, stopped representing him and told him to go to rehab.
Instead, Manziel went partying out in Los Angeles and caused $32,000 worth of damage in a drug-fueled rager.
