Nearly 300 Afghan Refugees To Be Resettled In Cleveland
Three agencies will help 285 Afghan evacuees come to Cleveland and acclimate to their new home.

CLEVELAND — Nearly 300 Afghan refugees will be resettled in the Cleveland area over the next six months.
Ohio is welcoming 855 Afghan evacuees through State Department placement program, Gov. Mike DeWine announced this week. The evacuees will be resettled using eight agencies, and they will mostly be placed in Northeast and Central Ohio.
In the Cleveland area, US together, Catholic Charities Migration and Refugee Services, and the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants will oversee the resettlement. While numbers are fluid, here's a current breakdown of how many evacuees each agency will assist.
