Northern Lights Could Be Visible In Northern Ohio This Week

A solar flare could make the lights briefly visible to the naked eye, according to officials.

OHIO — The Northern Lights could be visible in parts of Michigan and Ohio this week, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

A solar flare on Monday created a coronal mass ejection, which could make the Northern Lights visible to the naked eyes in parts of the continental U.S., including Michigan and possibly Ohio. The lights could be visible as soon as Wednesday night or early Thursday.

Sadly, current forecasts show a strong likelihood of rain and clouds on both Wednesday and Thursday night, the National Weather Service said.
