OBJ Is Gone: Browns To Formally Cut Odell Beckham Jr.

CLEVELAND — Odell Beckham Jr. will no longer be a Cleveland Brown.

The franchise agreed to cut the wide receiver on Friday. Browns EVP of Football Operations and General Manager Andrew Berry issued a short statement about Beckham's departure.

"After careful consideration, internal discussions and conversations with Odell and his representation, we've determined that it is in the best interest of all parties involved that Odell no longer play for the Cleveland Browns. We appreciate all his efforts and contributions while in Cleveland, but we've just reached a point where it is best that we move forward as a team without Odell. We are finalizing the process of granting Odell his release and we wish him well as he continues his career."

During his stint in Cleveland, Beckham participated in 29 games, catching 114 passes for 1,586 yards and seven touchdowns. He also notched eight rushes for 96 yards and one touchdown. It wasn't his on-the-field performance that fans will remember him for though.

In recent weeks, Beckham's family stoked argumentative fires within the Browns community, with Beckham's father sharing a video that shows quarterback Baker Mayfield missing a wide-open Beckham again and again and again, ESPN noted.
