COLUMBUS, OH — The Ohio State Buckeyes will kick-off their football season on Thursday night against the Minnesota Gophers.

Ohio State has won four straight Big Ten titles and will begin its quest for a fifth in Minneapolis. The Buckeyes won the semifinals of the college football playoffs last year before losing in the National Championship against Alabama.

If Ohio State hopes to go one step further and hoist another championship trophy, new quarterback CJ Stroud will need to prove himself from the outset. A redshirt freshman, Stroud has never before thrown a collegiate pass. That will change at some point after 8 p.m. on Thursday.

Lucky for Stroud, he has an elite offensive line and an acclaimed wide receiver corps to make his life easier. Still, there's nothing like the pressure and heat of your first game and Stroud will have a lot to prove.

Here's everything you need to know to watch the game.
