1) A Saturday parade marks the start of the two-day Ukrainian Village Festival in Parma. The parade steps off at 11 a.m. from Grantwood Drive north on State Road to Ukrainian Heritage Park. This year's parade and festival is expected to be especially poignant and well attended because of the ongoing war against Ukraine. The festival takes place Saturday and Sunday at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral on State Road.

2) Former Cleveland Indians outfielder and speedy base stealer Kenny Lofton may not be able to outrun this allegation — a man is suing him and accusing him of sending penis photos to a female employee and other women through an app. The woman ran an Instagram account for Lofton's company. The man, Brandyn Toney, brought the matter to the company attorney and was fired two days later, according to the lawsuit. Toney claims he was never paid for his work.

3) When Cleveland State University seized control of Aaron Ogletree's webcam during an online chemistry test, the school violated the student's Fourth Amendment right to protection from illegal searches, a judge recently ruled. CSU was trying to determine whether Ogletree was cheating. The video could be seen by his instructors and his fellow students. Ogletree, of Parma, sued for invasion of privacy and won his case.

4) Pastry chef Ann LoParo, owner of Annie's Signature Sweets, has a teaching space again to conduct baking classes. The pandemic forced her to leave her former space. “I finally found a kitchen to teach in-person classes again, at Dave’s midtown (grocery store) at East 61st Street and Chester Avenue,” LoParo told reporter Linda Gandee. In the last five years, she's taught more than 600 classes.
