Here are the top three stories today in Cleveland:
- The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, a division led by the U.S. Marshals Service, arrested a 14-year-old boy and a 46-year-old man for two separate fatal shootings in Cleveland. The boy shot Lawrence McKissic, 18, who died days later in the hospital. Police identified the boy at the scene of the incident and issued a warrant. The task force also arrested Bayshun East for the fatal shooting of Dontae Malone, 27. (Subscription: cleveland.com)
- Two Akron schools were temporarily locked down yesterday after a student brought a gun into school. Seventh- and eighth-grade students at Litchfield Community Learning Center told staff about a rumor regarding a student bringing a gun into the building. Police and district security found a handgun in the seventh grader's fanny pack. Firestone Community Learning Center also went under lockdown during the incident. (Subscription: cleveland.com)
