Here are the top four stories in Cleveland today:
- Cleveland is discussing the possible closure of Burke Lakefront Airport, which sits on a prime lakefront location for economic development. The airport, which has operated since 1947, occupies 450 acres and is a reliever airport to Cleveland Hopkins. The city has been searching for a consultant to find out if a park or mixed-use development could serve a better purpose for the land. (cleveland.com)
- The FBI Cleveland Division released a statement detailing how voters in the upcoming midterm election can avoid and report federal election crimes. Voter or ballot fraud is the most common election crime, including an individual voting more than once or an ineligible person voting. The FBI is focused on protecting the election from possible threats and will investigate voting fraud allegations. (Your News Now)
- A stolen Kia from Cleveland crashed into a gun store in Summit County this morning. Bath Township police officers found no suspects when they arrived at the scene. The owner of Summit Armory is conducting an inventory check for stolen items, and the incident remains under investigation. (WKYC.com)
- Tickets for the annual winter Cleveland Beerfest go on sale next week, with ticket prices ranging from $45 to $90 and include admission, 25 beer samples, and a 5 oz. mug. The event will be held Feb. 10-11, 2023 at the Huntington Convention Center and will offer 150 craft beer options to guests. (cleveland.com)
