Racing Horse Drowns In Pond At MGM Northfield Park

1) A racing horse at Northfield Park escaped its harness Monday evening, ran into an infield pond and drowned. The horse, named Alfred Hanover, got loose as it was being disconnected from its racing cart. The horse finished second in the second race. The remaining 13 races at MGM Northfield Park were canceled.

2) Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are returning to Cleveland in 2023. The Boss last played Cleveland in February 2017. The concert at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is scheduled for Wednesday, April 5, 2023. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. July 27.
3) Speaking of rock 'n' roll, the Boss would not look kindly on this news — the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame curator and director of acquisitions has been charged in a scheme to sell stolen, handwritten "Hotel California" lyrics penned by Don Henley of the Eagles. Craig Inciardi is one of three men accused of lying and plotting to sell off the million-dollar lyrics. Inciardi, based in New York, was most recently in Cleveland for the opening of the rock museum's new exhibit, "The Beatles: Get Back To Let It Be," which he assembled.

4) Who is Stephen Ayres? The cabinetmaker from Northeast Ohio appeared at the U.S. Capitols Tuesday to explain why he joined the throng of Trump fans who stormed into that very building on Jan. 6. Ayres, who said he's “nothing but a family man and a working man,” told a select committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection that he no longer believes the election was stolen from Trump. Ayres, who lost his job because of his behavior, apologized to some of the Capitol police officers after the hearing.
5) The residents of a home on Belmont Drive in Brooklyn Heights have twice had trouble with 911 emergency dispatch finding their home, confusing it for an address in Seven Hills. In the first call 18 months ago, an ambulance took 14 minutes to respond due to the confusion and a retired police officer died. After the second call a few weeks ago, Linda Derbin told the Fox 8 I-Team, "They had a year and a half to fix it. What's the problem?"
