Rain, Storms Likely Mid-Week In Northeast Ohio: Forecast

Temperatures will drop out of the mid-80s and into the low-70s during the work week.

CLEVELAND — Rain will bring cooler temperatures to Northeast Ohio this week, according to current forecasts.

The Labor Day-shortened work week will hit peak temperatures on Tuesday, with a high in the mid- to upper-80s. However, conditions will quickly become more moderate.

Showers are likely Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. The precipitation will bring down temperatures, with highs in the mid- to low-70s the rest of the work week. Overnight lows will be in the low 50s.

Outside of Tuesday and Wednesday, there's little chance for rain or thunderstorms this week, the National Weather Service said. There's a slight chance of storms developing on Thursday evening (30 percent probability), but it's more likely to be overcast and dry.

Finally, the work week will end with a stretch of cloudless, sunny skies and temperatures crawling back into the mid-70s. By Friday afternoon, a high of 78 is possible.

Here's a day-by-day forecast to help plan your week:

Tuesday — High of 86, overnight low of 64 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms are likely overnight.

Wednesday — High of 76 degrees, overnight low of 59 degrees. Showers are likely before 10 a.m., though the rest of the day should be dry.

Thursday — High of 72 degrees, overnight low of 57. There is a slight chance of storms developing between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Friday — High of 79, overnight low of 58 degrees. A sunny, clear day awaits at the end of the week.
