One Year Later, Bus-Stop Baby Doing Well And Could Be Adopted

1) More than one year after "Baby Doe'' was found by police at an RTA bus stop at East 105th Street and Superior, the girl is being cared for by relatives who want to adopt her. The girl, now about 18 months, cannot be publicly identified. Cuyahoga County officials never confirmed whether a woman found nearby with an empty baby stroller was the girl's mother. The county reports that 900 children are in permanent custody of the county, while about 130 are adopted each year.
2) Cuyahoga County Human Trafficking Task Force is taking a "hard look" at 500 customers of several suburban massage parlors busted in sex trafficking raids recently. The massage parlors were in Middleburg Heights, Strongsville and Painesville Township. Police video of the investigation obtained by Fox 8 News shows that some of the women forced into sex work lived in the strip-mall businesses.

3) Chef Rocco Whalen told dining correspondent Douglas Trattner he wants to put a new eatery in Tremont where his current restaurant, Fahrenheit, operates after he moves to a new space near Public Square. But the owner of the Jefferson Avenue property, Mark LaGrange, is selling the building for $1.49 million. LaGrange says he's looking out for the neighborhood and wants to get another restaurant into the space. “He’s leaving and he’s given me no indication that he wants to stay," LaGrange said. We’re getting pretty close; we’re six, seven months away. I figured I would give someone an opportunity to put a nice restaurant there to own the building.”

4) Mark your calendars: "Bluey's Big Play" is coming to Cleveland in August 2023. A live performance of Bluey" TV show characters is scheduled for KeyBank State Theatre on Aug. 5 and 6. We'll let you know when tickets go on sale. This is the only show scheduled for Ohio. For those who don't know, "Bluey'' is an acclaimed kids show featuring an animated family of Aussie blue heeler puppies voiced by children, offering a "funny and honest look at modern family life."
5) A former federal prosecutor who worked in Cleveland and Akron is under investigation, accused of asking an intern for nude photos, touching her breasts with the back of his hand, and texting her questions about sex. A complaint filed with the Ohio Board of Professional Conduct alleges three years of harassment by Mark Bennett. The state Supreme Court ultimately will decide Bennett's fate. The accused skeeve resigned in 2020 when the accusations were first made to the Justice Department inspector general.
