Scattered Snow Showers, Subzero Chill Could Hit Northern Ohio

A snow band is moving inland and bringing light-to-moderate snowfall with it.

CLEVELAND — Light-to-moderate snowfall could hit parts of northern Ohio on Wednesday morning, according to forecasts.

A snowband is moving inland from Lake Erie and bringing snow with it, the National Weather Service warned. Showers are expected from in Lorain, Lake, Trumbull, Geauga, Cuyahoga, Medina, Summit and Ashtabula counties. Snow could continue until approximately 9 a.m., forecasts said.

Lake and Ashtabula counties specifically are now under a winter weather advisory until at least 10 a.m., with 1 inch of lake effect snow expected to fall in those areas.

Along with the snow, the band is bringing 30 mph winds that will reduce visibility to a quarter of a mile for drivers.

"Use extra caution if you must travel. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads may lead to accidents," the National Weather Service said.

After the morning snow, conditions should dry out but temperatures will further plummet. The overnight low is expected to dip to 2 degrees or lower in much of Greater Cleveland. With wind chill, it will feel subzero outside.
