Shooting In Cleveland: Mother Killed While Son Watches On

A 48-year-old woman was shot to death in her car. Her son was in the backseat.

CLEVELAND — A 48-year-old woman was shot to death inside her car on Saturday evening. Her 13-year-old son saw the killing from the backseat of the car.

The woman was found E. 76th Street at 6:40 p.m., Cleveland police announced. She was slumped in her car when officers found her. She had been shot in the head and chest. EMS pronounced her dead on the scene.

Investigators believe the woman was driving home, with her 13-year-old son in the car, when two men spotted her car and began shooting at her.

The boy was not hurt in the shooting. Neighbors were caring for the teenager when police arrived.

The two suspects drove off after the shooting, police said. They have not yet been identified.
