Shooting On Cleveland's East Side: 1 Dead, 1 Hurt

Police believe the house is connected to drug activity.

CLEVELAND — One person was killed and another hurt during a shooting on Cleveland's east side on Tuesday.

At 6:30 a.m., Cleveland police said, there were reports of gunshots near a home on E. 114th Street. When officers arrived, they found a 46-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his back on the home's porch. Officers gave the man first aid.

Inside the house, officers found a 59-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. When EMS arrived, they pronounced the 59-year-old dead and rushed the 46-year-old to University Hospitals for treatment.

Investigators believe both men lived at the E. 114th Street home. Cleveland police said the home may be connected to drug activity.

An unidentified person kicked the door of the home down and fired a gun into the home before running away. A person of interest in the shooting has not yet been identified.

Anyone with information should contact investigators at 216-623-5464. Anonymous information can be provided by calling CrimeStoppers at 216-25-CRIME and a cash reward of up to $5,000 may be available.
