Man Arrested In Slain Cleveland Officer's Car Gets 3 Years In Prison

1) A man arrested while driving a slain Cleveland police officer's car was sentenced to three years in prison. Anthony Butler pleaded guilty to failure to comply, receiving stolen property and obstructing official business. Officer Shane Bartek, 25, was carjacked and killed on New Year's Eve 2021 as he attempted to disarm his attacker. After Butler's arrest, he told a judge: "I had nothing to do with the officer being killed.” A woman named Tamara McLoyd, 18, eventually was arrested for the murder and faces several charges.

2) Many of the jet bridges in use at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport are so old they've outlived their lifecycle and pose safety concern due to "improper use and lack of maintenance." A jet bridge is the flexible walkway that connects the terminal to the airplane. You've noticed some of them look kind of old. Well, they were so old American Airlines sold five of them to the airport for $1.
3) Workers at the West Sixth Street Starbucks say management recently retaliated against newly unionized workers by cutting their hours from 40 a week to 10 or less. The Cleveland Starbucks workers demonstrated outside the store and garnered much support from passersby. The Warehouse District coffee shop iis the first in Northeast Ohio and second in the state to unionize. Honk if you love the union.

4) An offer for former Cleveland Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'s Columbia Station house was accepted on Monday. The home is selling for $3.3 million. The 10,000-square-foot house was on the market for about two months. The house features a home theater, golf simulator, gourmet kitchen and full bar with entertainment area.
5) The third day of Deshaun Watson's disciplinary hearing takes place Thursday in Delaware. The Cleveland Browns quarterback has been present for the hearing. The NFL wants to see Watson get an indefinite suspension and have him sit out the entirety of the 2022 season.
