Snow Parking Ban Issued In Cleveland, Highway Ramp Closed
One highway ramp into the city has also been closed due to weather, Cleveland police announced.

CLEVELAND — The city of Cleveland issued a snow parking ban Monday morning and closed an off-ramp into the city due to winter weather.
The I-71 south, SR 176 and I-90 east ramp into downtown Cleveland is currently closed due to weather and will remain closed until further notice, Cleveland police announced Monday morning.
The city's parking ban will remain in place until at least 8 p.m. on Monday, the city said. Stopping, standing or parking of vehicles is prohibited on city streets with red and white signs.

"Parking is prohibited on designated Snow Emergency streets, which are identified as necessary for transportation, the movement of food and fuel supplies, medical care, fire, health and police protection and other vital facilities of the city. Significant snowfall can cause streets to become congested and impassable," Cleveland safety officials said in a statement.
Any vehicles that are left in the road could block snowplows from clearing streets, making them more hazardous for emergency vehicles and other necessary travel. Further clogging of the street could result in bottlenecks and gridlock, city officials warned.

"For this reason, citizens are encouraged to avoid parking vehicles on all city streets to allow snow plows sufficient time to remove snow and ice from the roads. Vehicles in violation are subject to citation and towing," the city said.
