Snowflakes Spotted Above Northern Ohio...Sort Of
The National Weather Service saw snowflakes on a recent radar scan of northern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania.
CLEVELAND — Uh oh. Snowflakes were spotted in the clouds above northern Ohio on Friday.
Don't bust out the puffy winter jacket and scarf just yet though. The snowflakes are wet, according to the National Weather Service. They're part of a phenomenon called "Bright Banding" on radar.
"This happens when the radar see wet snowflakes in the atmosphere. We have wet flakes above 3,000 feet over Northeast Ohio and Northwest Pennsylvania," the National Weather Service said on social media.
