Thanksgiving 2016: Travel Tips from ODOT and Search for Low Gas Prices in Ohio

CLEVELAND, OH — If you plan to hit the road to visit friends and family (or after visiting), you should check out the travel tips below from ODOT. You might also want to consult Patch's gas price search tool to save some money at the pump.
If you are planning to leave today, bad news — ODOT says that the day before Thanksgiving is the worst day for traveling. However, you can make up for that on the way home, ODOT has identified Friday, the 25th as the best day to return.
The roads will be busy this year, AAA projects that 48.7 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home this Thanksgiving, an increase of one million travelers compared with last year.
