CLEVELAND — Thousands of dollars have been raised to help cover funeral costs for a woman whose cut and bruised body was reportedly found in a vacant, dilapidated home in Cleveland's Slavic Village neighborhood this week.
Anastasia Hamilton, 25, a native of Medina, was last seen alive Saturday at the Terminal Tower parking garage, Cleveland police said. She was reportedly with an unknown man, and her car was found parked in the garage.
A day after police asked Tuesday for the public's help finding her, a body was found on a couch in an abandoned home on East 54th Street, near Mound Avenue. It was identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office as Hamilton, multiple media outlets reported. Hamilton had cuts and bruises to her head, torso and extremities.

Sandi Petrosky, a family friend, launched a GoFundMe account with the goal of raising $15,000 for Hamilton's funeral. As of Friday afternoon, the account had raised about $19,000.
"On Wednesday afternoon, May 25th , they received the horrible news that their beautiful Anastasia was deceased," Petrosky wrote. "This is devastating news for any parent to receive. Homicide detectives along with the FBI were on the scene yesterday and homicide detectives met with the family last night."
She asked those who are able to help donate money and "put beautiful Anastasia to rest."
"Any amount will be help. Any donations that may be left over will be put towards her brothers college because that is what Anastasia would have wanted for her baby brother. She was loved by many and had a sweet, kind, &gentle heart," Petrosky said.
A candlelight vigil is planned the night of June 2 for Hamilton's family, a friend of her mother wrote in a Facebook post.
The vigil will allow people to "gather as a community in prayer and support" for the mother and her loss, the friend wrote.
