Here are the top three stories today in Cleveland:

  1. Due to the rainy weather, the Veterans Day Parade in Cleveland scheduled for Friday was canceled. The ceremony at City Hall and resource fair at the public auditorium was able to go on, regardless of the inclement weather. The resource fair featured over 50 vendors known for supporting veterans. Additionally, the resource fair offered free flu and COVID-19 vaccines. (Cleveland 19 News)
  2. Wild turkeys are becoming a growing problem in Cleveland and the surrounding suburbs. The turkeys have been moving closer and closer to residential areas, and their populations have been expanding in the nearby national parks. Even the more urban areas of Cleveland have started seeing these hostile birds. Wild turkeys can be extremely dangerous; officials are encouraging residents who see one to avoid them and contact local wildlife services. (Subscription: cleveland.com)
  3. On Friday, St. Vincent Charity Medical Center closed its doors. The medical center, which has been operating in Cleveland since 1895, is transitioning to outpatient care. Its Medical Emergency Department ended inpatient care on Friday. During the transition period, St. Vincent Charity's Psychiatric Emergency Department will continue to operate. (WKYC.com)
