ICYMI: LeBron James Speech at the Cavs Championship Celebration in Akron

It's time for Akron to celebrate LeBron and the Cleveland Cavaliers championship. Akron and the LeBron James Family Foundation will host a championship celebration for LeBron James at 8 p.m. Thursday at Lock 3 in downtown Akron.

Akron native, LeBron James and the Cavs beat the Golden State Warriors in Game Seven of the NBA Finals to end a 52-year drought in major Cleveland sports championships.

“This is a guy who came back home,” Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan told the Akron Beacon Journal, referring to James’ decision to return to the Cavaliers from the Miami Heat. “Akron is home. He’s said that a thousand times. We want to celebrate that. We want to do that in a big way.”
