Watch Out For Icy Roads, Sub-Zero Temps, Snow Dusting: Forecast
An additional 1 to 2 inches of snow could fall on parts of the snow belt, according to the National Weather Service.
CLEVELAND — Freezing temperatures and lake effect snow could blow into much of northern Ohio on Thursday and Friday.
Sub-zero wind chills could develop overnight between Thursday and Friday, the National Weather Service warned. Any snow that melted Wednesday could become icy on Thursday, making sidewalks and roads slippery and hazardous to pedestrians and vehicles. Be careful commuting to work and back on Thursday and Friday.
Parts of the snow belt — eastern Cuyahoga County and portions of Lake and Geauga counties — could see an additional 1 to 2 inches of lake effect snow on Thursday night, according to forecasts. Sub-zero temperatures could quickly turn that snow into ice, making Friday morning commutes hazardous as well.

"A few slick spots are possible on roadways overnight as temperatures drop below freezing and any snowmelt potentially freezes. Keep this in mind if you encounter any wet spots on the road, especially on bridges and overpasses," the National Weather Service said on Twitter.
Thursday night temperatures could fall to 10 degrees, but will feel even colder with 3 to 5 mph winds. According to forecasts, Friday night's low could dip to 3 degrees, but will feel sub-zero due to wind chill.

Here are the National Weather Service's tips for staying safe amid possible sub-zero temperatures:
- Avoid getting wet. Wearing wet or moistened clothing could accelerate how quickly you lose heat from your body.
- Layer. Wear multiple layers of clothes and don gloves, hats and scarves to keep yourself insulated.
- Minimize how much time you spend outdoors, if you can.
