1) Cleveland's West Side Market will be managed by a nonprofit as soon as next year in the hope that service at the Ohio City icon can be improved. Jessica Trivisonno, chief strategist for the West Side Market, will oversee creation of a master plan and manage transition from city control. The process is expected to take about 10 months. The city has owned the West Side Market for 110 years and will continue to do so.

2) The family of a man who was shot in the back by Maple Heights police after he led officers on a chase at speeds of 90 mph released unedited footage of the shooting. Datwuan Catchings crashed his car and then ran from police when he was shot while climbing a fence in May. “He picked my son off like he was a target and killed him,” said Dean Catchings, the slain man's father, on Thursday.

3) 🐀 🐀 🐀 John Garner Jr. has unwanted dinner guests when he sits down for his evening meal — Cleveland rats. Garner said the city has let a lot it owns on Avon Avenue become so overgrown that it's become infested with rats and other animals. Those rats are invading his home. Garner said he's tried to get the city to cut the grass to no avail.
