Winter Storm Watch Issued For Northeast Ohio: 6-10 Inches Likely
Parts of the three counties will see moderate to heavy snow on Monday, the National Weather Service warned.
CLEVELAND — Parts of Northeast Ohio could see up to 10 inches of snow on Monday, according to a winter storm watch.
Snowfall is likely to start Monday morning and continue throughout the day and into the evening, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service. The winter storm could make morning and evening commutes dangerous.
"Moderate to heavy snowfall begins before sunrise Monday morning then continues into the evening. The heaviest snow should occur over eastern Cuyahoga into Lake and Geauga counties. These bands are also expected to reach into southern Ashtabula County," the National Weather Service said.

In addition to the heavy snowfall, wind gusts could hit 35 mph on Monday, making driving even more difficult. Visibility could be significantly impaired during the storm, the National Weather Service said.
The northeastern edge of Cuyahoga County is likely to receive 4 to 6 inches of snow on Monday, the National Weather Service said. Cities in Lake and Geauga counties, like Mentor and Chardon, could see even more snowfall, in the range of 6 to 10 inches.

Monday's winter storm watch will expire at 10 p.m., the National Weather Service said. There is a slight chance of snow continuing into early Tuesday morning, but precipitation should dry up by Tuesday afternoon.
Current forecasts show little chance of snow from Wednesday onward.
Rain ends from west to east by this afternoon. After a brief dry period, lake effect snow will develop in late tonight.
