14-Year-Old Says He Was Robbed on Coventry

Cleveland Heights Police arrested three suspects and charged them with robbery.

A 14-year-old from Maple Heights reported that he was robbed in front of on the 1800 block of Coventry Road at 5:16 p.m. May 27.

The teenager said he was waiting there for friends when three boys asked him to use his cell phone. He said no, and he said the suspects then said they had a gun* and threatened to shoot him if he didn't give the group of teens his phone.

The victim gave them his phone, two hats and a backpack and the suspects fled on foot.

 responded and found three suspects near the 2800 block of Overlook Road. They arrested three teens from Cleveland Heights — ages 15, 14 and 13 — and charged them with robbery. Police did not find a weapon on the boys.

The Sun Press also reported that the 15-year-old suspect was arrested earlier that day, and landed seven charges in a five-hour time span.
