Cleveland Heights Woman Named Education VP At Cleveland Botanical Garden
Renata Fossen Brown, of Cleveland Heights, is the new Vice President of Education at Cleveland Botanical Garden.

ClevelandΒ BotanicalΒ GardenΒ has named a Cleveland Heights resident as its new Vice President of Education.
Renata Fossen BrownΒ served as theΒ Gardenβs Associate Director of Education from April 2009 to July 2013. She wasΒ responsible for thousands of student visits yearly, creating the professional-development training program for teachers and overseeing Hershey ChildrenβsΒ Garden and the Eleanor Squire Library.Β
Brown joined theΒ GardenΒ in September 2004 as Education Coordinator and is theΒ Gardenβs Clara DeMallie Sherwin Chair in Education.

Previously, Brown served as assistant curator of education for the Toledo Zoo and served as president of the Cleveland Regional Council of Science Teachers. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in biology from the University of Toledo and a master of arts degree in curriculum and instruction from Bradley University in Peoria.Β
She is certified to teach science in grades 7 through 12 and has been active in informal science education since 1993.
