Is Barbara Boyd Effective in Ohio House of Reps. From Home?

Ohio Rep. Barbara Boyd (D-Cleveland Heights) represents Cleveland Heights, University Heights and Shaker Heights voters in the Ohio House of Representatives' 9th District.

But, as The Plain Dealer reports, Boyd hasn't attended a vote in 2013 due to health issues.

Boyd ran uncontested in November 2012 to retain her seat.

She told The Plain Dealer that she can represent voters by working with constituents and legislative colleagues from her home, and that the Democrats are so outnumbered in the House that her one vote hasn't mattered on issues this year.
