New Assistant Superintendent Hired By CH-UH Schools
The CH-UH school board approved the hiring Tuesday of Andrea Celico as the district's new assistant superintendent.

She replaced Jeffrey Talbert, who resigned in early June to become superintendent in Alliance.

"Dr. Celicoβs vast experience in a District that is similarly situated to ours, along with her strong background in curriculum and instruction, is just what we need right now," said Nylajean McDaniel, the CH-UH superintendent.Β "She is energetic, bright, and ready to step into the position immediately. Iβm confident she will contribute in big, meaningful ways here."
Celico has served as the Assistant Superintendent in the Euclid School District over the last four years. In that role, officials sayΒ she coordinated Euclidβs comprehensive continuous improvement plan, was the internal facilitator for the District Leadership Team, worked with the Ohio School Facilities Commission in building four new schools, and was the supervisor of human resources.

Prior to becoming assistant superintendent for the Euclid City School District, she served in many roles including elementary school teacher, assistant principal and principal.
"Iβm very familiar with the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District," Celico said.Β "Iβve studied the data, thereβs a lot to be excited about, and there are some challenges. This District is full of children who can succeed. It has a talented and dedicated staff, and a supportive community. Great things are ahead. I canβt wait to get started."
Celico earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in elementary education from John Carroll University. A Masterβs Degree in School Administration; Superintendentβs License, and Doctor of Philosophy in Urban Administration from Cleveland State University.Β
