Cleveland Heights Teachers Union Elects New Leaders

Tom Schmida steps down after serving as president for 22 years.

The Cleveland Heights Teachers Union has elected new leadership.

teacher Ari Klein, who served as first vice president for six years, will be installed as president at the union's biennial banquet April 20. Brian Schaner, who was elected to his first term in office, will serve as first vice president.

Officers serve two year terms.

Local 795 represents 630 teachers, support staff and security monitors in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District.
