Born in St Louis, Missouri, Brendel studied Technical Illustration and Graphic Arts. Her early illustrating career led her into working for publishers designing book covers, illustrating children's books and illustrating technical articles and other publications. She has painted scenery for Broadway sets, and created pieces for private and industrial clients worldwide.

“The world presents a wonderful variety of spiritual and natural imagery that I love to capture,” said Brendel. “My success is when someone has been inspired.”

The display is free and open to the public during regular Library hours.
