• Formal charges unveiled after man was allegedly murdered with garden snips: police (dayton247now.com) — Dayton police and Montgomery County prosecutors have filed formal charges against a suspect accused of fatally stabbing a 34-year-old man with garden snips at an apartment on Elsmere Avenue. The victim later died at a local hospital, and the accused is being held in the county jail on a $1 million bond with arraignment set for Tuesday.
   

• Habitat for Humanity welcomes new homeowner just in time for the holidays (daytondailynews.com) — A Springfield woman just received a fully renovated Habitat for Humanity home, a project overseen by the executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton and several local partners. After logging more than 575 hours of sweat equity, she celebrated getting her keys alongside family, volunteers, and community leaders, who emphasized how stable homeownership can transform a family’s future.
