Dayton PD warn of scam targeting Miami Valley residents (wdtn.com) — Dayton Police are alerting residents that scammers are calling people in the Miami Valley, falsely claiming warrants or missed court dates and demanding money over the phone. Officers stress that real law enforcement will never request payment or financial details this way, and urge anyone who gets such a call to hang up and report it using local non-emergency numbers.
   

2. 50 children received new beds with support from several local organizations, businesses (whio.com) — Fifty Dayton children now have brand-new beds thanks to the Hope to Dream event, Morris Furniture, United Way of Greater Dayton, and Secret Smiles of Dayton. Local volunteers and nonprofits teamed up to deliver custom beds, bedding, and gifts, giving kids safe, personal spaces to sleep and easing the burden on families across the city.
   

3. Dayton National Cemetery's Wreaths Across America sees largest turnout yet (dayton247now.com) — Hundreds of volunteers braved the snow to lay more than 8,000 wreaths at Dayton National Cemetery, marking the largest Wreaths Across America turnout yet. Organizers are already inviting Dayton-area residents to next year’s ceremony on December 19 and a January 24 cleanup, and are running a sponsor-one-get-one wreath offer through December 31.
   

4. Chaminade Julienne Catholic H.S. raises $25M during ‘Ascend' campaign (daytondailynews.com) — Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School in downtown Dayton has completed its “Ascend” campaign, raising $25 million to expand its campus, boost student services, and strengthen its neighborhood footprint. Funds are supporting new buildings, counseling and social-emotional services, scholarships, special education, English language learners, and teacher development, all aimed at serving a diverse mix of students from across the Dayton region.
   

5. Hundreds of Scouts learn about cybersecurity at Air Force museum (daytondailynews.com) — Dayton-area Scout leaders brought hundreds of kids to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force for hands-on workshops on cybersecurity and new tech-focused merit badges. Local Scouts from the Miami Valley and Tecumseh councils explored online safety, cyber careers, and STEM innovations tied to nearby Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, while experts stressed how digital skills protect families, schools, and future workplaces.
