Burkhardt Art Collaboration

This collaboration ties to ReImagining Works, a partnership program between DML and the Dayton Art Institute, which offers local and regional artists a chance to create artwork that specifically represents the communities the Library’s new and/or renovated Branches are located in.

Francesca Hary, Branch Manager of the Burkhardt Branch Library, encourages patrons to sign up quickly for their spot in the last session, as space is limited. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for the patrons of Burkhardt and others who enjoy the creative process to have input on a lasting piece of art for their local Branch,” she said of the collaboration program.

Community members in the Burkhardt area and Library staff have had the opportunity in two previous sessions to create pieces of fused glass that will be part of an acrylic painting titled Fruits of Our Labor. This artwork, based on the work (see above) of InsideOut Studio artist Brett Garrett, will be showcased in the new Branch's Community Room.
